Player Development Program Age 5-15

DC Soccer NJ's Player Development program looks to target key areas of the game from Technical, Tactical, and all-round soccer IQ while at the same time having fun learning from fully qualified soccer coaches. All classes will be split into age groups so we can target key aspects of the game related to that age and stage of the players development and at the same time helping to develop the players confidence on and off the ball.

What to expect.

Players will go through a curriculum that has been put together to target each age group. In each class, players will work on a topic that will target Ball Mastery, 1v1 attacking skills, Passing, Shooting and many more.  Classes will be split into 3 parts to maximize players development at all our classes.

Part 1

The first part of the session, players will be taught the correct technical aspect of the topic. This will be unopposed to help the understanding of the topic while not feeling pressured from an opposing player.

Part 2

In part 2 players will now have the opportunity to use the topic of the class in an opposed exercise that will challenge the players through 1v1, 2v2 , or a possession-based drill. At this point the player will learn the How, Where, and why. This will help in decision making and confidence on the ball while in a opposed situation individually or as a team.

Part 3

At this part players will scrimmage. While scrimmaging players will look to implement what they have learned within the first 2 parts of the class. At this point the players will work on the tactical aspect of the game while playing.
